Rollup Helper in Salesforce

As we know that Rollup Helper is a very helpful & popular app on AppExchange. It is used to get real-time data on hand. We can easily roll up Salesforce data – Min, Max, Count, Average, Percent from a child object to a parent object by using this app. Basically, the count, max, and other similar operations on parent objects are only available for the Master-Detail relationship data type. It also allows these features/functionality in the Lookup Relationship.

How to use a Rollup helper?

Step 1:- Go to AppLauncher and click on “Visit Appexchange”, search for “Roll-up Helper” and install it.

After installing the app, when you see “App Launcher,” you will find an app as “Rollup Helper.”

Step 2:- When you click on the “create” icon, you will get the option on the next page to select the Destination object.

Step 3:- You will get an option to select a targeted field after selecting the targeted object, and also to select the selected object result field (For this, you have an option to use the existing Field or you can also create a new field on that object).

In this case, I have created a new field as:-

Step 4:- After submitting the new field, you will get an option to select Source(from where the data is coming), which means that the child object in this I have is the Task object.

Step 5:- You will get an option to select the type(Sum, Count, Average, Min, Max) on that child object we should use as a source of our roll-up after selecting the child object.

Step 6:- If you want so you can also add your New filter criteria on after selecting the type according to your condition.

Step 7:- You have options to save the roll-up or to save, schedule, run, and share it.

Like this, we can see the changes on the object by creating the rollup helper, which has a way to overcome the limitation of the roll-up summary.

Key Limitations for the Free Version of Rollup Helper

  1. We can only run three roll-ups in Real-Time, Schedule, and Manual run Roll-ups.
  2. You must manually execute rollups or trigger them via record saves or button clicks.
  3. Real-time rollups are available but only for certain objects and operations.
